Steel Plant Conveyor Belts
Steel plants place demanding requirements on conveyor belt performance, including heat resistance and thermal stability, abrasion and impact resistance, resistance to ply separation and corrosion, as well as burn-through and puncture resistance.
Different operating conditions require different conveyor belt configurations. For sintering plant applications conveying coarse materials at temperatures of 150°C to 300°C, T3 or T4 heat-resistant conveyor belts are recommended. These belts utilize EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) cover compounds and heat-resistant carcass structures to ensure thermal stability and control elongation.
For slag handling applications involving red-hot steel slag at temperatures above 300°C to 600°C, especially where sharp-edged materials and localized flame exposure are present, T4+ grade burn-through and heat-resistant conveyor belts are required.
