Chevron Conveyor Belt / Profiled Conveyor Belt
Chevron conveyor belts are inclined belts including a patterned (cleated) working-side cover, a flat cover on the opposite side, and a fabric carcass composed of cotton (CC), polyester-cotton (CP), nylon (NN), or polyester (EP). Their primary advantage lies in anti-slip performance and steep-incline capability, addressing the propensity of ordinary belts to lose material during ascents.
Key Advantages
- The cleat pattern creates a physical barrier and embedded shear that counters backward slip from gravity, keeping material moving in sync with the belt.
- Cleat support raises the safe conveying angle to 30°–45° (and up to 60° with high-cleat sector patterns), maximizing vertical space use and shortening the horizontal footprint of the conveying line.
- Base belt and cleats can be co-vulcanized from different polymers or compound rubbers to suit the operating conditions.
Main Tread Pattern Types
- V-Pattern: Raised "V" cleats, open or closed, for powders, granules, and small lumps at inclines ≤40°.
- Bar Pattern: Raised transverse bars in fine or coarse spacing, for horizontal transport of packaged goods at inclines ≤30°.
- Grain/Dimple Pattern: Raised nibs for soft packaging or grip-dependent loads; dimpled form for granular material at inclines ≤45°.
- Sector (Fan) Pattern: Half-fan or quarter-circle high cleats that close on troughing, for steep inclines up to 45°–60°.
